Carlos began performing professionally at age 15. He has entertained audiences throughout Argentina, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Australia and the United States, both as a dancer and musician. Carlos founded The Tango Company in 2004.
As a member of Tango A Media Luz, Carlos was dance captain and assistant under El Pampa Cortes. Carlos moved to New York City in 2000 and began performing in the cast of Swango, Tango Y Vida, as well as with Sandra Antognazzi in Fusion Tango. Career highlights include performances at New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, The Place Des Arts in Montreal, and San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts. In 2005, Carlos made his Broadway debut in Romulo Larrea’s Tango Pour La Milonga at Town Hall. Carlos has performed internationally throughout Europe, Canada, and Mexico in various prestigious Tango shows, including Tango: A Passion of a Lifetime and Latin Dance Carnival. Recently, Carlos performed at MetLife Stadium in front of a sold-out crowd of over 80,000.
Carlos has appeared on television in over 20 countries, on such programs as NBC’s The Today Show and Univision’s Despierta America. He is a featured artist in the documentary Songs For Cassavetes. Carlos has worked with movie stars Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz and has choreographed cast members of the hit Broadway show Forever Tango. Carlos was invited to teach for the world-renowned Joffrey Ballet School. He was the choreographer of Spotlight on Tango and Tangos From Gardel to Piazzolla (for which he received enthusiastic reviews from The New York Times). Carlos has been invited to teach throughout the U.S., Argentina, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia.
Carlos also played in the seminal punk band The Peechees from 1994 to 1998. During that time, the group released three full-length albums on the Kill Rock Stars label as well as singles on various labels including Lookout! Records and Subpop.
